Liv Torc
We were privileged to welcome Lic Torc, climate change poet and performer, to compere THE ANTIDOTE: our beautiful, creative and furious battle cry against climate inertia, staged by Writers Rebel at the Tate Modern on April 15. Here she explains how the climate emergency puts fire in her belly and how she’s working with climate scientists to look up and step up during April Rebellion and beyond.
Catch Liv performing her touching tribute to that statuesque shrine to sustainables, that NIMBY provocateur extraordinaire, the wind turbine. Or listen to When You Know The Water’s Coming, a poem about the inhabitants of low-lying Somerset and the water that rises around them.
Or click here to see the entire festival – with contributions from eminent writers, poets and performers Lemn Sissay, Zena Edwards, Inua Ellams, Patience Agbabi, Sarah Winman, Greg Norminton, Raymond Antrobus, Joe Dunthorne, Maggie Gee, Nikita Gill and Courttia Newland as well as Writers Rebel’s own Monique Roffey and Alex Lockwood.
Liv and co-compere Chris Redmond work together as Hot Poets, a creative collaborative which seeks inspiration and action through the fusion of climate science and spoken word.
